A wanted man was fatally shot during a confrontation with the police in Westmoreland yesterday.

The deceased, Adrian Knight, otherwise called 'Rice Bag', was shot in his community of Lambs River in Bethel Town, Westmoreland, about 5:40 a.m.

Knight was wanted by the police for the murder of Jermaine Spence, who was shot dead on Cove Road in Bethel Town, Westmoreland, on January 31.

A .38 revolver and three .38 cartridges were also seized.

The Independent Commission of Investigations is probing the shooting.
