Receiving the 'eunuch baptism'

From time to time, we have heard of persons who attended church baptisms to be witnesses of those who went to be baptised, following their surrender to God for their soul's salvation; and they, themselves, ended up being baptised, receiving their 'eunuch baptism'. Well, Judeen Allen has had such experience.

Allen attended a baptismal service at the Sanguinetti New Testament Church of God recently, with her intention being only to watch some new converts receiving their baptism, not having made any plans for herself to be baptised, but ended up being immersed in the pool by Reverend Dr Roy Owens. This, after an invitation was given by the moderator of the service for those who wished to be baptised to come forward.

It took a little while for Allen to make up her mind to be baptised, but after the congregation travailed for a while, Allen and another candidate stepped forward and had the religious act performed.

However, before the candidates were called, they were all told during the sermon, preached by Reverend Owens, to do an inventory of their life; and from all indications, Allen did just that.

The 16-year-old student told THE STAR's Life and Times that she believes that the Lord has a purpose for her life and that He will make a change in her family for the better.

"I got saved because I believe that the Lord has a purpose for me. Also, I think that He will make a change in my family and my life. I love the Lord with all of my heart; and that is why I have accepted Him and am giving Him a chance in my life," testified young Allen.

She shared that she has already seen changes in her life, as the things that she has challenged the Lord for have been granted to her. She added that she believes she can be a trendsetter, with the help of God, and that she hopes to accomplish a lot.

"This will happen, but all I have to do is to continue to seek the Lord like a hungry lion. Being a 16-year-old girl facing many struggles and hardships, my desire is to focus on the Lord for everything, because Jesus never fails," said the young convert.

Allen pointed out that with the help of her church brothers and sisters, her pastor and her immediate family, she intends to continue being blessed by the richness of God.

After she was through with her testimony before entering the pool, Reverend Dr Owens announced that she wanted to be baptised, and stated that upon the great commission given to him by the Lord Jesus Christ and with the authority vested in him as a minister of the Church of God, he was going to have her baptised.

"I now baptise you in the name of the Father, in the name of the Son and in the name of the Holy Ghost," said Owens.
