'Tuffy' sure goals will come
MARC STAMP, STAR Writer

National senior team striker Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson is in a unique situation by his recent standards, yet to find the back of the net in three games for his new team, Club Deportivo Aguila, in the El Salvador Primera Division.

Anderson, who transferred from Waterhouse in January, believes that, with the addition of a creative midfielder to the team, goals will come from his boots soon.

"We are trying to rebuild the team with a creative midfielder. They have brought in a player from Argentina for that position and he looks good in training," Anderson told STAR SPORTS from the club's base in San Miguel, while on his way to training yesterday.

"I am not getting enough support but I know it will get better and I will start scoring for the club as they have faith in me," Anderson added.

During his playing time in Jamaica, Anderson has been known for aggressive on field behaviour for both club and country. He said the coach has advised him not to get involved in arguments with the game officials.

"The coach don't want to lose me, so he told me not to argue with the refs," the former Red Stripe Premier League back-to-back Golden Boot winner said. "Everybody at the club appreciates me, they see the fight in me, so it will be a matter of time before the goals come," he also said.

C D Deportivo, in their last game edged Alianza 1-0 away on Janaury 29 for their first win of the season. Alianza, club of former Harbour View standout Sean Fraser, lost for the first time to remain on six points, while C D Deportivo moved to three points and in eighth position in the 10-team league.
