Jealousy lands boyfriend in court |

A man who told the court that it was jealousy that caused him to assault his girlfriend was forced to pay a hefty fine for his actions when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. Pleading guilty to the charge of assault occasioning bodily harm is Christopher White of a Kingston address. dispute According to reports, White and his girlfriend were engaged in a dispute when he used a knife to hit the complainant all over the body. White attempted to apologise for his actions, but was reprimanded by Resident Magistrate (RM) Simone Wolfe-Reece. "Your Honour, I'm very sorry about it. I was a jealous guy," he said, to which RM Wolfe-Reece responded, "Jealousy is not a good thing. Don't let it consume you. It's very expensive." He was fined, $15,000 or 30 days for the offence. |
