LAUGH IT OFF AND DONE!

I have some major laughing in store this week and my face cyaan wait for the workout. I'm going to be at South Beach Café having a kinteet ball this evening. Yu coming?

I will be laughing up a storm at LIME Comedy Café, where Ity and Fancy Cat, Kathy Grant and Dr Michael Abrahams will be performing. And I especially am looking forward to seeing the hilarious Dutty Berry live and in person for the fist time. Yeah, peeps! Like I said, I can't wait.

Serious laughing a go gwaan tonight. And it will be more come this Friday as I hear that two comical old bredda called Bello and Blakka will be doing a special lunch hour concert at the Bank of Jamaica auditorium. Unnu ever hear bout dem? Dem nuh too bad. they used to be my favourite comedy duo until I met Ity and Fancy Cat! Hehehehehe!

Hey, look here nuh! When last yu laugh? Yeah, laugh! You know, laugh? Dah lickle ting deh dat sweetens the bitterest spirit, beautifies the ugliest face, and energises the dullest space. When last yu dweet?

Me, I practise it every day, every chance I get. And if I don't get that chance, I take it. I don't wait pon joke, I make joke. If that not possible, I just laugh same way. And me nah stop dweet. After all, is not borrow me borrow my teeth.

Yes, Baba! Laughter is always a key item on my agenda, and it's never ever on the back burner. I put it up front and centre. It's never some peripheral or marginal issue that gets placed in the 'any other business' category of my daily life. Laughter is my main business.

Yeah, man! Me tek di laughing ting serious.

And every now and again, I have to remind myself and anybody else who will listen that laughing is a vital thing. I mean, I don't really want to get too deep and heavy, but a don't want unnu tek di kinteet thing too lightly.

Unnu must hear by now that laughter is the best medicine. Well is true. And it bears repeating that laughter is a great source of healthy emotional and physical relief. Yeah, man! And laughing together is like instant group therapy. It diffuses tension, breaks down barriers, builds social cohesion, and promotes harmony.

Don't mek vile vexation win the ongoing battle for control over your facial expression. Laugh it to damnation. Face down the bitterness of bad vibes with a bold, beautiful kinteet determination.

Proverbs 15 verse 13 says, "A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken," and folk heroine Miss Lou lyrically reminds us to "tek kinteet kibba heart bun". Yeah, I know laughing may not make things better, but it definitely makes people feel better. So laugh nuh! Laugh and done!
