|||||
This column is a no-judgement zone where mi jus talk mi mind and give mi advice! Before di relationship Mi naah lie you're one of a kind. Yo mi rate how yu jus speak yu mind. Mi kno se yu mi can depend pan yu fi keep it real wid mi everytime. Mi woulda really whaa fi mek you mine. When unnu become a couple Laad man yu always haffi speak yu mind! Yu cyaa bite yu tongue sometime! Your honesty buck til it feel like a crime. Look ere mi need some space apart and mi need some time. Who are you? Wha yu feel like? Doa confuse mi! Yu feel seh yu can turn off and turn on my realness ... yuh ah who? JPS! Yu eva meet someone who claim dem love you for you, but as soon as unnu enter an intimate relationship, dem constantly complain bout yuh?! Dem find every fault and flaw wid yu but ah dem same one tell yu seh dem love everyting bout yu! All of ah sudden, unnu relationship become Dear Pastor, All Angles and Your Issues Live! They appreciate when you're real about certain things, but when yu real wid dem about dem, is a huge problem! They want you to be conveniently real! How do you deal with a person yuh sincerely have feelings for but they conveniently have a problem when you are sincerely being yourself?! Run! Mi seh fi run! Nuh stay wid dem! I advise that you run and not walk because you're going to find a million reasons to stay with that person - you don't want to be alone, yu cyaan badda try wid nobody new, yu truly like them and maybe you jus need fi change who you are likkle. All these thoughts and more will plague your mind and keep you in a relationship where you truly can't fully be yourself. Mi seh fi run! Mi naah joke wid yu... run! A relationship like this is poison on so many levels! It is true that we all have flaws and there are things about ourselves we're going to make attempts to change, but anybody who claim seh dem accept you fi who you are and when dem finally get yuh, dem whaa fi change yuh ... leave them! Your job isn't to be a convenience to them, your job is to be consistently you! |
