JOCKEY Trevor Simpson has a sound shot at an early two-timer tomorrow afternoon with SAINT MARY and THEKIDISNOTMYSON.

SAINT MARY has held her form quite well in two races under trainer Robert Alveranga since claimed from Harry Parsard as a winner on November 30.

The six-year-old mare was outstayed by RUNAWAY QUEEN and STERLING GOLD at 1820 metres in her first start under Alvaranga's care. She went one better in the Paul Newman Memorial, December 21, beaten two lengths by out-of-class MERU at a mile in 1:41.0.

ANNTRACK was third in that event, a length and a quarter behind SAINT MARY, and returned to frank the form with a battling victory over a storming SURREAL on Wednesday.

Simpson was aboard SAINT MARY when she was outclassed by MERU and would have got a good feel of the consistent United States-bred mare, who returns at the handy mark of 52.0 kilos.

JOVOUN THE MASTER won by 11 lengths, on a $230,000 ticket, the same day SAINT MARY was second to MERU at almost twice the claim tag. The six-year-old has Dane Nelson aboard and will have his fair share of backers.

Though he was claimed and dropped in class to shore up Carlton Watson's successful owners' championship bid, JOVOUNTHEMASTER was soundly beaten by third-place SAINT MARY behind RUNAWAY QUEEN on November 30.

STOP A GAP, seven and a quarter length third behind MIRACLE STAR and PHINEAS on Boxing Day, relishes a strong middle-distance pace and should be SAINT MARY's main threat.

THEKIDISNOTMYSON takes on a tricky field of maidens in the fourth, but caught the eye on her second start in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes on Boxing Day.

An in-utero filly, THEKIDISNOTMYSON was third on debut behind HIJA DE REINA and RAEVEN RENAE in the Sunnyside Stakes on December 8.

She tested the waters in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes and kept pace with the big filly, PRINCESS POPSTAR, for the first three furlongs. She was still fourth by five lengths at the half mile, which was completed in splits of 46.3.

Trainer Dale Murphy will fit THEKIDISNOTMYSON with the visor tomorrow, which should make her even sharper in what will be a gate-to-wire bid from post-position two.

Richard Azan's debutant, RAISE-YOURVOICE, is the railbirds' choice but hasn't shown enough speed at exercise to catch THEKIDISNOTMYSON, who has the experience of two runs under her girth.
