Two road fatalities recorded since 2014 |

There are two recorded road fatalities so far in the new year.
In the one incident, a female pillion rider died from injuries sustained in a collision with a motor vehicle. Her identity has not been ascertained. The mishap occurred on the Portmore Causeway about 2:30 a.m., on Wednesday. It's reported that the motorcycle slammed into the rear of the other vehicle. The woman sustained injuries and was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where she died. The police say the motorcyclist fled the scene. speeding motorist In another incident, also on Wednesday, a 20-year-old St Catherine man was hit from his bicycle by a speeding motorist. This happened about 3:15 p.m. along a section of the Spanish Town Bypass. The deceased has been identified as Jordan Mason, a delivery man of March Pen Road in the parish. It's understood that he was not wearing a helmet. According to reports, Mason was riding his bicycle across the busy thoroughfare when he was hit by a silver Honda motorcar. The driver did not stop. The police are asking the driver to report to the Spanish Town Police Station. |
