Benji Hype (left) and Laden US-based dancehall artiste, Benji Hype, is pleased with the growth of his fan base over the last few months, ignited by the success of his first breakout hit, 'Google Badmind', featuring Laden. The deejay's new-found popularity was on show during his recent performance in Plowden in South Manchester, where he performed at a community event, earning forwards for Google Badmind, and his flossing single, Rave Everyday. When he performed Food Haffi Cook, the crowd laughed and cheered him on, but, perhaps, the biggest surprise of the night was the ovation he got from young fans for his latest single, Man Dark. He was forced to do the song two times as the young teenagers sang it word for word. "Mi surprised at the popularity of Man Dark, just the way the young kids dem react to it, and after the show, a couple of them come up to me and tell me that the song is their ringtone on their phones. I may have to do a video for it, based on how well it is doing," Benji Hype said. He also performed Good Good, his combination single with Blacker Ranks. Over the holiday weekend, Benji Hype also performed at Treasure Beach in St Elizabeth during a sound system clash dubbed South East Soundclash. Follow |
