A gunman on Sunday opened fire and fatally shot a 20-year-old resident in the Bay Farm Villa community, THE STAR has learnt.

Information reaching our news desk is that the deceased was in the company of a woman when the tragic incident happened.

The dead man has been identified as Dyran Dyer of a Mahogany Road address in Kingston 11.

Reports are that Dyer stood talking to a woman when his attacker walked up to them and shot him several times.

THE STAR gathered that he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Dyer's female companion was not reportedly injured during the attack.

Police investigations continue.
