Sexy 2013?

It's the end of another year and everyone starts thinking about the year that was. We start reflecting on our goals to see the ones we achieved, forgot about and just plain didn't attempt. At the beginning of every year, we make a list of resolutions and by the end of January our plan to lose weight seems like such a difficult task. I am personally more interested in your sexy resolutions. Did you have better sex this year? How about the amount of sex you had? Do your regret some of the sexual partners you had? What about those drunken encounters. Let's take a look at some of the un-sexy things we did in 2013?

Faking orgasms

A man once said to me that a fake orgasm is more polite than no orgasm at all. I guess he has a point. But in my book, it is not nice to deceive your lover. If you didn't have an orgasm, that's already disappointing. Having to fake one is downright uncivilised. Please stop it!

Becoming stuck in a routine

When you have got to the point when your partner knows what it means when you tilt your neck a little to the left, it's time to mix it up. I don't care how you spin it, routine is NOT sexy!

Allowing work to take over your life

I know we are all very busy people and most of us are multi-tasking at work. But there must be a balance. What are you working for so hard that you cannot stop for a moment and enjoy your partner? If you continue to make your work take over your life, eventually you will only be left with your work.

Expecting your partner to know what you want

If you are not happy with how your partner is pleasing you, say something. Don't expect him/her to read your mind. Why not give some instructions instead? "Kiss me here". Touch me like this". "I like it when you ______".

Being unwilling to even consider trying something new

So you think you have already done everything you are ever going to sexually? Really? You just want to be a Nipple-Nipple-Crotcher all your life? That's a long time. I'm just saying, try something new once in a while, you might like it.

Neglecting your body

Ok, so this is a tricky one since I know we are all busy and sometimes it's just not possible to go get that manicure or pedicure. But it's important to take care of yourself. Your self confidence depends on it.

Not communicating

With all the distractions of technology and a busy life, sometimes you go for weeks without talking to each other. Just being able to vent about something that is bothering you is therapeutic so talk to each other.

Not paying enough attention to your sex life

Your sex life is important, so make time for it, even if you have to schedule it.

Not masturbating

You need orgasms, even if the only way to get them is to do it yourself. Masturbating is good for you so touch yourself!

Allowing your friends and family (even your pastor) to control your sex life.

I know it's easy to run to your friends when you have some problems or even just to talk but your sex life is none of their business. Talk to your partner if you have an issue with what goes on between you.

Usually I separate the mistakes that men make from the ones women make, but this list affects both genders. If you are guilty of more than five of these mistakes, you have a lot of work to do in 2014. In the mean time, consider how sexy you want to feel in the New Year and let's make a plan to achieve this goal together. In the mean time, I want to wish you a HAPPY, SUCCESSFUL, SEXY, ORGASMIC, NEW YEAR! Have fun and stay sexy!

Dear Dr Sexy,

I ended another year single and I am tired. I really need to find someone for the New Year. My friends say that I should try online dating. What do you think?

Shelly, Montego Bay

Dear Shelly,

Online dating can be daunting for some persons because you don't really know who's being honest online. But it is a new way to meet people. So I would recommend that you try it as a way to meet new people and go from there. Every connection you make may not work out, but just keep an open mind.
