Tuffy can lead the way - Chin |

President of Waterhouse Football Club Ricky Chin believes if Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson represents well during his stay at his new club Deportivo Aguila, one of the top outfits in El Salvador, it could open doors for other players from his club and in Jamaica to play in Central American football leagues. Anderson, the leading scorer in the Red Stripe Premier League for the past two seasons is scheduled to leave the island today. If Tuffy demonstrates the right attributes, Chin says, it could be beneficial to other Jamaican players. "As long as Tuffy goes down there and shows decorum and if he really behaves and shows good leadership qualities; be a good ambassador for Waterhouse in particular, I am sure it can have a tremendous amount of positives," said Chin, who wasn't aware of whether there were other Jamaicans playing football in El Salvador. "If he doesn't get carried away by the situation and takes it one step at a time, if he does that I am sure we will be seeing more opportunities for Waterhouse and Jamaican players." Chin said the club has been getting offers for Tuffy for a long while now and considering the player's age he thought this was a good time to let him go. "From before the season started, before he even made the Jamaican side, the amount of goals that he scored last season had seen Waterhouse getting requests for Tuffy from as far as eastern Europe to the tip of South America," Chin revealed. "I spoke to somebody a few weeks ago from Mexico who had a second division team who wanted him." Despite Tuffy's age, Chin feels the striker who has scored six times in this current season can make a big impact for his new club. "Because of his training regimen I think he is in better condition than players in their mid-20s. We just now need to see him going down there and transferring that into play." Chin said there are still a few details to iron out and he would have been meeting with the player sometime last evening to discuss those. "It's a straight arrangement between both clubs," he said. "It's just for us to agree on some things along with the player.
