It was a smiling Rev Dr Roy Owens, pastor at the Sanguinetti New Testament Church of God in Clarendon, when young Christian Christopher Thompson stood in the pool at that church recently to take his water baptism, indicating publicly that he is now walking with the Lord.

Thompson, 16, was not in any mood to smile, as he was eager to show the public that he is on business for the King and to serve Him in spirit and in truth; so he penitently awaited his chance to be immersed in the water by the pastor, assisted by Deacon Glendon McDonald, in front of a packed congregation, which shouted loud bouts of praise to God for the young male convert, as he sought to live a new life.

During his testimony before he was dipped in the pool, Thompson told the congregation that he was happy to be walking with the Lord. He shared that life as a Christian is secured in God; and that those who are without Christ are taking chances.

The 16-year-old youth told THE STAR'sLife and Times that he decided to start living for the Lord because of the many occurrences taking place around the world. He added that man should never take chances with the one life which God has lent to one, and so the best thing to do with that life is to live it for the Creator.

"When I look into things and I see how the world is reacting to certain issues, I said to myself that it is now time for me to move closer to the Lord. When I see how some persons react when they hear that the Lord will be coming back soon and so on, I knew that it was time for me to make my move for the Lord. I realise that the coming of the Lord is imminent," testified Thompson.

The young man shared that his walk with Jesus Christ is the best decision he has taken. He noted that despite peer pressure and other distractions, he intends to hold on to the Lord because he wants to make Heaven his home. He intends to do so by praying, fasting, and staying close to experienced Christians who can give him guidance.

Thompson wants all young people who are not yet saved, especially his friends, to join the line for the Lord and surrender their life to Him, in order to have the joy and peace he now experiences as he lives his new life.

He is also calling on all Jamaicans who are not yet on the road to the new life he currently enjoys to get on the journey for Christ because the life lived for the Creator will bear fruits.
