ANTHONY Nunes could end the year with a three-timer tomorrow, all ridden by Shane Ellis, to bring down the curtain on another season of racing at Caymanas Park.

The jockey-trainer combination should strike with ROCKETEER in the third, FORCE DE JOUR in the fifth and HOGAN'S HERO in the 10th.

ROCKETEER is down in class on a $550,000 tag at 1100 metres, the level and distance of her last victory when she beat PRINCE THEO and SHE'S SO SPECIAL in October.

Since storming home under Shane Ellis in October, ROCKETEER has been passing time among overnight allowance runners, but noticeably closing at the end of her races.

She got within four lengths of EDISON, LADYLIKE and CAMPESINO on November 30, and was seven behind THE GUV, WILLIE GOLDSMITH and MY FRIEND LUCY two weeks ago.

Both efforts were good ones and she will be hard to beat among claimers with Ellis back in the saddle, taking over from Jevanne Erwin.

FORCE DE JOUR shouldn't be opposed at 1400 metres, despite taking on Philip Feanny's talented local-bred filly, BUBBLING ANGELINE.

different league

Unbeaten in three starts, outclassing fellow United States-bred JANIBOUTICE on each occasion, FORCE DE JOUR is way ahead of any two-year-old seen this season, bar the super one, PRINCESS POPSTAR.

A combined winning margin of 21 lengths in three starts, puts FORCE DE JOUR in a different league, even for BUBBLING ANGELINE, one of the top local two-year-olds in training.

Feanny's filly notched her second win from two starts two weeks ago, beating MASS EDGAR and QUEEN PAULA. Her only loss came after she tried to go with stablemate PRINCESS POPSTAR on her second run and lost second position to INSANE BOLT at 1400 metres.

HOGANS HERO has definitely improved since moving to Nunes' barn in October, winning his first start from his new barn.

He was undone by 57.0 kilos and a fast pace set by MEROVINGIAN QUEEN and TIGRENIAN, at 1300 metres, earlier this month. The chestnut colt was attacking the leaders a half furlong out when SUNSHINE CITY came flying on the outside.

STEPPING RAZOR, closing fast from off the pace, further relegated HOGANS HERO to third close home. However, he was in receipt of 18lb from Ellis' mount. Tomorrow, the handicaps have tilted in HOGANS HERO's favour, giving up 7lb less to STEPPING RAZOR.

The pace will be easier at 1820 metres for HOGANS HERO to track and steal home from STEPPING RAZOR. He galloped 1:03.3 with United States-bred PREMATUREE last Saturday morning, an ideal workout for tomorrow's distance.
