Three men, including a member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), are now dead following separate motor vehicle accidents reported across Jamaica on Christmas Day. The deceased are 23-year-old Christian Wallace, a delivery man of Retrieve district, St James; 24-year-old Yannick Gregory, a JDF member from Albion district in Manchester and 51-year-old Derrick Scott, a labourer of Chester Avenue in Spanish Town, St Catherine. THE WEEKEND STAR gathered that the first accident reportedly took place about 3:10 am on Brunswick Avenue in St Catherine. Report reaching our news team is that Scott was walking along the roadway when he was allegedly hit by a motorcar near Jam Pet Service Station. Later that morning about 6:11 am along the Albion main road in Manchester, JDF member, Gregory, was driving his Toyota motorcar when on reaching a section of the roadway, he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into an embankment and overturned. The St James police told THE WEEKEND STAR that about 5:30 pm, Wallace was killed in a collision on the Salt Spring main road in the parish. Further reports are that Wallace was driving a motorcar, which collided with another that was travelling in the opposite direction. Investigations into all three incidents are ongoing. |
