Recent Waterford shooting may be gang-related - Clive Blair |

RASBERT TURNER, STAR Writer
Operations officer for The St Catherine South Division, Superintendent Clive Blair, said an incident that led to the death of one man and injuries to two other persons is believed to be gang-related. Blair said the incident occurred along Portland East in Waterford, St Catherine, about 6 p.m. when gunmen invaded a premises and fired shots hitting all three. They were taken to the hospital where the male, who was unidentified up to press time, died and the other two persons, who are females, were hospitalised. "We believe that the attack in the Waterford area is gang-related and needs direct attention. As a result, we intend to step up Meanwhile, residents of the community have expressed concerns about the gun crimes that seem to be taking over the area. The St Catherine Major Investigation Task Force has since started a probe into the incident. |
