Live acoustic music for Fuzed |
|||||
I-Wayne Live acoustic music will get a shot in the arm this month with the first staging of Fuzed, an eclectic collision of acoustic reggae, poetry, world music and other exploratory genres of music. The format will feature live performances from two artistes from a diverse platform of Jamaican artistes, poets and musicians once a month. The show will be held every last Wednesday of each month, starting on the 27th of November at the Funky Monkey nightclub and bar, 17 Holborn Road, New Kingston. Internationally acclaimed reggae firebrand I-Wayne will headline the first staging. "The difference between Fuzed and other live showcases is it's an acoustic intimate setting. Along with I Wayne we have Meeka Nyota, a very talented dub poet who will display her catalogue of poetry that has stemmed across three continents, wooing and captivating her fans and audience," Vivian Thomas, founder and chief executive officer of the boundary-pushing record label, PushaYute Productions, said. The show is the first of its kind and is sure to be a hit as the series is clearly backed by music enthusiasts and artistically inclined companies and individuals. The organiser promises a dizzyingly eclectic aesthetic. You will be hard-pressed to find anything remotely like Fuzed in the Corporate Area. The event will showcase the eclectic genres and cultures of world music, with emphasis on showcasing local talents, known and up-and-coming. "This means at any given night of Fuzed you can be entertained by dub poets, rappers, singers, techno DJs, lecturers and more musically inclined stars. We want to surprise you. Music breaks age, race, cultural, geographical barriers. So whether your preference is rock, pop, hip hop, dance, or another of the many music genres reaching globally ... there is something for everyone at Fuzed," Thomas said. The Fuzed event series will be hosted under the umbrella of PushaYute Promotions. |
