Israel for the first time

Beenie Man

Beenie Man will head to the Middle East, late November, where dancehall fans are eagerly expecting him to perform in Israel for the first time.

"Beenie goes to Israel on November 28. it is his first show in Israel. Based on the pre-sold tickets, the promoters are setting up a second show," Beenie's manager, Rohan Smith said.

Beenie Man's latest single, The Realest, produced by Good Good productions, continues to do well locally. The single is now on FIWI Choice charts.

Other singles, Me and My Linky, produced by Arif Cooper, and Soulmate, a collaboration with Gyptian, are also generating spins on FM radio in the Caribbean and North America.

In the past, Beenie Man was at loggerheads with the gay community, which took umbrage to the lyrical content of his songs, and even picketed his shows, causing high-profile cancellations.

However, since he apologised last year in a video posted on youtube, he has achieved a quiet truce with the LGBT community.

"We have had no problems with the LGBT community, so far, in Europe and the US," Smith said.

He will be returning to Jamaica to perform at Sting for the 30th anniversary celebration at Jamworld in Portmore.
