Bail was extended on Friday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate court for a woman accused of assaulting a Rastaman causing serious injuries. Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Dahima Williams from the Corporate Area. She pleaded guilty to the charge and offered an explanation to the court. The court was told that on the day in question, Williams and the complainant were in an argument and a knife was used to cut the man several times. The court heard that the complainant was cut across his mouth where he received eight stitches and again on his right hand where he lost a piece of his finger. The accused told Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey that the complainant stripped naked and attacked her, spraying her with an air freshener and she used the knife on him. When asked if Williams' statement was true, the complainant said, "Your Honour, I don't remember being naked ...". Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey then told Williams that she did not believe a word she was saying as her explanation had no justification. Williams is to return to court on December 16. |
