Disease-detecting machines for health centres |

SHELDON WILLIAMS, STAFF REPORTER
Health Care professionals will be able to detect and prevent diseases in patients more accurately with the use of an instrument called the Quantum Magnetic Resonance Analyser that will be available at some health-care centres in the next few days. The analyser has been designed to provide a more accurate diagnosis in patients than the more traditional methods such as ultrasounds and x-rays. Retired medical doctor, Dr Hal Newball of Newball Enterprises Inc in the United States, said: "those are really not preventive measures. what they do is to detect early disease, so that is early detection of diseases. True preventive medicine is to prevent the development of disease, and that is what vitamins and supplements do." Newball is visiting the island sensitising health-care professionals to the usage of the machine and has joined efforts with Dr Jephthah Ford to increase availability locally. Ford, of the Vanford Medical Centre in St Andrew, has acquired four of the analysers from Newball and is confident that it will become popular in the health-care sector because of its potential to prevent diseases in its truest sense. Newball explained that he developed interest in nutritional medicine and its preventative capabilities after he read a book titled What Your Doctor Doesn't Know About Nutritional Medicine May Be Killing You. Ford assured the news team that persons would be able to be tested within the next 10 days when select health centres are equipped with the machines. "This equipment is a screening unit. It screens for malfunctions of any organ in the body, and in addition to that, it makes recommendations. For example, one of the things that it screens for are the vitamins, and it will tell you whether or not vitamins are within normal range. Once the physician determines whether the vitamins are within normal range, then he can decide whether individuals need supplemental vitamins and nutrients," Newball explained. He also pointed out that the instrument would be able to determine the status of each organ in the body within a mere 60 seconds. Before an individual is tested, certain information about the person, including name, age, date of birth, weight, and height will be entered manually into the system and saved. Persons being tested also have to be briefed before testing to reduce the likelihood of incorrect readings and results. "You need to be prepped to avoid distorting the signals," Newball revealed. "You have got to be without eating or drinking and you have got to make sure you wear no metals. And if you want to check for vitamins, you have to be off vitamins two days before you are tested," he added. electromagnetic waves Data are collected from a patient from a sensor (probe) that is held by the person being tested. Signals are then sent from that sensor to the machine through electromagnetic waves. Each organ will be tested separately, and images of each will be visible on a monitor as the testing proceeds. "Each organ has a different cell type. These cells are charged and they emit signals, electromagnetic waves of different frequencies depending on the health of the cells. So what we are measuring is the emission of electromagnetic waves from your cells," Newball explained. The results are easy to read and understand as they are colour coded. "The keys are green for normal and blue for mildly abnormal, and yellow is moderately abnormal, and then red means it's severely abnormal," Newball revealed. Analyses that will be provided include blood sugar, bone disease, kidney function, and gastrointestinal function. Persons who are deemed unfit to be tested include children below 12 years, the disabled, and those who have pacemakers or any other electronic device in the body. Women having their monthly menstruation are also discouraged from being tested. |
