Police seek help identifying body

The police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the body of a girl believed to be 16 years old, whose partially burnt remains were found in Caymanas Bay in the vicinity of Caymanas Estates, St Catherine, on Saturday.

The body is of dark complexion, slim build and is about 160 centimetres tall. It was found dressed in a floral blouse, short jeans pants and a pair of multicoloured sneakers.

The Constabulary Communication Network says that about 8:45 on Saturday morning, residents stumbled upon the body and called the police. Upon their arrival, it was seen lying face down in bushes near to a dirt track. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.

The police say anyone who may be able to assist in identifying the body is being asked to contact the Central Village police at 984-2644, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
