![]() Calvin Lewis ... back at Portmore. - File Ryon Jones, Staff Reporter At the start of the 2013/2014 Red Stripe Premier League season, not many persons would have envisioned a meeting between Montego Bay United and Portmore United being billed as first versus last. This is, however, exactly what it is with league leaders Montego Bay United hosting cellar dwellers Portmore tomorrow at Wespow Park, Irwin, St James, in a 3 p.m. encounter. Five-time national league champions Portmore have endured a rough start to the season which has yielded a mere two points from six games. They have scored just one goal while conceding seven in suffering four defeats to go along with two draws including a 0-0 stalemate with Harbour View in the previous game week. Montego Bay United have amassed 13 points and are the most prolific team with 10 goals while conceding four. Portmore will hope for a change in fortune with a change in coach, as the man that led them to their last league title back in 2012, Calvin Lewis, has returned to the club to replace Linval Dixon as head coach after resigning from Arnett Gardens. "I resigned from Arnett Gardens, as I wasn't getting the support that I wanted, so I was out of a job and Portmore came calling," Lewis shared. "It (Portmore) is a team that I had a lot of success with and I just thought it was right to go back to Portmore." Lewis is not daunted by the current position Portmore are in as he believes with the squad of players he has at his disposal results will follow. "We have a fantastic group of players here and once their confidence has been restored they will get it right and once they get it right they will be unstoppable," Lewis said. "It is mainly the psychological aspect of the team that I am working on right now and they are putting in the work, so it is going to be an early turn around for Portmore." Since returning to the country's top flight two seasons ago Montego Bay United are yet to register a league win over Portmore having played to three draws and suffered three defeats. Their coach Donovan Duckie is, however, looking forward to his team turning that around and continuing in their record-setting ways. "We are setting some records like beating Harbour View in Harbour View, leading the premier league and this is our best league start, so maybe this (beating Portmore) could be one and it is fitting playing at home," Duckie reasoned. "It is going to be a tough game, because it is Portmore United and they are a quality team irrespective of where they are in the table." Tomorrow's matches August Town vs Boys Town at UWI Bowl, 3 p.m. Montego Bay United vs Portmore United at Wespow Park, 3 p.m. Rivoli United vs Arnett Gardens at Prison Oval, 3 p.m. Sporting Central Lion vs Cavalier at Juici Patties Park, 3 p.m. Tivoli Gardens vs Humble Lion at Edward Seaga Complex, 3 p.m. Monday's game Harbour View vs Waterhouse at Harbour View Stadium, 7 p.m.
