Says their story doesn't add up Rasbert Turner, Star Writer Investigators in the St Catherine North Police Division have held two men who were complainants in a robbery case after the story they told investigators did not make sense. The men were held after they reported that they had been robbed of over $2 million in the parish on Thursday. Reports are that sometime after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, persons from a construction programme withdrew $2.3 million from a bank. Its reported that upon reaching the vicinity of the Linstead Fire Station, the vehicle was stopped by gunmen who proceeded to rob the money. It was reported to the police; however, the lawmen have held on to the complainants after investigations revealed that the story they told did not add up. The police say it is unclear as to how they were robbed and the information supplied was questionable. The Star was told that the men's names are being withheld pending further investigations in the matter. The Linstead area, in recent times, has become a 'hotbed' for criminals with robberies being the dominant factor. |
