PASTOR RESIGNS AFTER HOMO CONFESSION

A pastor from central Jamaica was recently forced to pen and hand in his resignation as head of his church after allegations that a man confessed that he had been sleeping with the clergyman for the past two years.

THE STAR understands that the lifestyle of the pastor was always brought into question by members of his congregation. However, some light was shed on the unknown after the man he is allegedly involved with mistakenly left his Facebook page open. The man is also a member of his congregation.

Information reaching our news team is that the pastor handed in his resignation letter dated October 2 on Sunday, October 6.

A member of the church who spoke to THE STAR said the pastor has been the head of the church for eight years, and that people have always speculated his lifestyle without proof.

THE STAR gathered that on Tuesday, October 1, however, a church member confessed to being in a relationship with the pastor after a family member of his made a shocking discovery while going through a series of his Facebook messages.

Facebook messages

Our news team was told that the Facebook page was mistakenly left unattended and other members of the church were called in to view first hand after messages of the pastor and the man's sexual practices were being discussed, via instant messaging.

A member of the church that spoke to THE STAR said, "... after we showed him the messages, the man confess because there was no way out."

Our news team was told that a relative of the man subsequently confronted the pastor.

When THE STAR contacted the church, a senior member within the church confirmed the drama.

He said, "We have in our possession a resignation letter from the pastor, about 15 other persons left with him. We accept his resignation ... We have done our best and will continue to rid the church of these guys."

THE STAR was also informed that the pastor has wasted no time in starting another church in a neighbouring district.

Our news team was told by members of the church that things at the church have been progressing smoothly since the departure of the pastor, and that another member has been put in charge until a senior pastor returns to the island.

The member said, "We had church last night and the services since then have been good."
