Man remanded for assault

A man, who told the court that "a only one time me lick har", was remanded, when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Raymond Moore of a Kingston address.

It is alleged that during an argument, Moore assaulted the complainant by hitting her in the face, causing her to sustain injuries.

Moore, who pleaded guilty with explanation, told the court he should be given a chance because it was his first time hitting her.

"A only one time me lick har, Your Honour, just one time," the accused pleaded.

Moore was ordered by Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey to spend 30 days behind bars for the offence.
