Dear Pastor,

I am a 26-year-old mother of three. I have no subjects but I did a course in food preparation (Level 1) at HEART NCTVET. I want to pursue my dream to own a business. I live with my last child's father. He doesn't want me to go out, he wants me to stay in the house. He locked me out of his house four times. I want to get baptised and move out of his house but he is telling me that he will cut off my head.

I just want someone I can trust to talk to. I faint at times. I am asking for your advice. Please pray for me. I am confused and stressed out. I need a job so I can support my kids.

Dear D.L.,

Your child's father needs to be told that God is not dead and he should not stand in your way in serving God. You have alleged that he has threatened to cut off your head if you were to be baptised and move out of his house. The poor guy doesn't know that the power of prayer can destroy him. And if you seriously want to serve the Lord, God can move him out of the way.

You need not be afraid of him. You should make sure that you report his threats to the police. Let everybody in the church know that it is your desire to serve the Lord and that you need their support. Ask them to rally around you and to protect you. The church should help you get a job and a place for you to stay until you are on your feet, so to speak.

And what about your relatives? Can they help you? They shouldn't leave you to suffer in the hands of this wicked beast. Perhaps some of them can help you to support the children by taking them for a time. Don't be afraid to tell them what you are going through.
