Bursar facing fraud charges

A bursar was summoned to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday, on allegations that over $500,000 went missing under his watch.

He is Neville Reid, who has been charged with fraudulent conversion and larceny as a servant.

Reid is to return to court on November 26 for a plea and case-management hearing into the matter.

The court heard that Reid was employed to the Comfort Castle Primary and Junior High School as a bursar.

It is alleged that the Fraud Squad was called after an audit was done at the school and the funds could not be accounted for.
