MoBay cops probe death of mother and daughter

The St James police are probing the death of a mother and her daughter, whose charred remains were removed from a house located in Catherine Mount, St James, yesterday morning, after both perished in a fire.

THE STAR understands that the deceased Esmine Daley and her 28-year-old daughter Tameka Edwin, died in a fire of unknown origin.

Five units from the Montego Bay and Ironshore Fire departments responded to the blaze.

Police reports are that upon the arrival of the fire-fighters, an apartment building was seen on fire.

Cooling-down operations were conducted by the Fire Department when the bodies of the women were found and later removed from the scene.

A source close to the investigation told THE STAR that it was too early to establish if the incident was an act of arson, however, nothing will be be ruled out until further investigation is carried out.
