LOVE OR OBSESSION? - Man charged after constantly watching woman

After admitting that he is in love with a woman who he has been accused of assaulting and stalking, Ramonda Stoney was remanded for psychiatric evaluation on Tuesday.

Stoney, who appeared in the Corporate area Resident Magistrate's court, has been charged with common assault.

He is to return to court on November 5 when the matter will be mentioned as the file is incomplete.

The investigating officer in the matter told the court that Stoney is obsessed with a female who works at a market in Kingston, and he pulled her hair in a fracas recently.

The cop said that the accused visits the complainant's home and place of work, where he sits and stares at her for the entire day.

Senior Resident Magistrate (RM) Judith Pusey before making her decision also heard that Stoney's mother is seeking professional help for her son, as she too feels that the accused needs a psychiatric check-up.

"Your Honour, mi buy her a lot of expensive things and me buy her a BlackBerry phone and not even me have an expensive phone, Mi love har, your Honour. Mi can show you di bruises on mi body because she also tek a set on me too," Stoney told RM Pusey.
