Andre' Williams, STAR Writer
Security personnel with the help of the police apprehended three females and recovered an illegal firearm yesterday after an alarm was raised by frightened persons inside an office in the Corporate Area. THE STAR understands that about 2 p.m. yesterday, a panic alarm was raised and a private security responded to its client at their location on Trevennion Park Road in Kingston. Reports are that when the security team arrived at the location, they observed three women and briefly monitored their actions. THE STAR was told by a member of the security team that a sting operation transpired next. He said, "It was basically a joint operation between ourselves and a JCF team ... we responded to our clients after allegations that shots were fired ... we were able to apprehend three females and seized one firearm ..." Eyewitness reports are that the women came to the Cross Roads area in a black vehicle, they went to a nearby building then made their way over to the building where the office is located. Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) Fitz Bailey, head of the St Andrew Central Police Division, confirmed that three females are in custody. "A woman attempted to rob a man today (yesterday). The police responded and an illegal firearm was seized. Two other women were held after," he said. |
