West Indies Under-19s again imploded under a barrage of spin as Bangladesh Under-19s won by four wickets in the fourth one-day international (ODI) to extend their lead in the seven-game series three-one yesterday.

Fifteen-year-old captain Hassan Miraz led a spin attack that demolished the West Indies batting as the Caribbean side scrambled to compile a competitive total, but were bowled out for 143 after winning the toss and deciding to bat.

The visitors cruised to victory riding on a half-century stand between Miraz and Nazmul Hossain Shanto to reach 144 for 6 following their lopsided 198-run win over West Indies last Friday when the homeside also collapsed under spin.

A 64-run stand between Marquino Mindley and Gudakesh Moti-Kanhai providing the brightest sparkle in the West Indies batting.

Mindley top-scored with 39 and Moti-Kanhai 28, but the procession of batsmen to the pavilion continued as Bangladesh spinners exploited the conditions of the wicket at the Everest Cricket Club Ground.

Miraz completed an impressive all-round performance to finish with 5 for 17, while Jubair Hossain supported with 3 for 25.

The Bangladesh run chase suffered some early setbacks, including the loss of two wickets just before the lunch interval, however, a 69-run partnership between Miraz and Shanto carried them with three runs from victory.

Their victory was slightly delayed by Ramaal Lewis who was on the verge of a hat trick after snapping up the wickets of the leading run scorers in consecutive balls.

Miraz was caught for 27, while Shanto was beaten by a ball which swung back on to his stumps.

Ray Jordan and Lewis each picked up two wickets for 24 runs.
