Cops seek information on fuel theft |

|
The May Pen police are appealing to residents of Anderson Heights, Clarendon, and neighbouring communities close to the Manchester border who may have information as it relates to the theft of fuel, and other vehicle related materials associated with the mining operations in the area to contact them immediately. This appeal comes in light of an operation that was conducted in the community yesterday, in which four persons were arrested and several items seized. Reports received are that a team of officers conducted a raid at a house in the area, during which the team recovered several items, fuel among them, and uncovered evidence that the substance was being illegally sold at the location. Also among the items recovered were a number of batteries and truck tyres. The identities of those in custody are been withheld at this time. As the lawmen continue their investigations, they are appealing to residents not to purchase fuel, vehicle parts, machine parts or batteries from unauthorised sources, and to call the police whenever they see such items being sold at suspect locations, or for bizarre prices. The May Pen police may be reached at 986-2208. The police 119 emergency number and Crime Stop at 311, 811 or www.tipsubmit.com may also be used to give information. |
