A Jamaican woman whose son allegedly attacked and inflicted wounds on a student, who attends the Medical University of the Americas, has been charged with accessory after the fact for attempted murder and accessory after the fact of burglary. According to the post on www.nevispages.com, Jamaican Itasha Dellisser, who lives on Shaw's Road, New Castle, was allegedly informed of what had transpired between her son, Shane Dwayne Oliver Shorter, and the medical student on Tuesday October 1. The allegations are that she may have facilitated his attempts to evade being arrested by the police, through the purchasing of a ticket for him to fly from the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in St Kitts to Jamaica. While at the airport, her son was apprehended by detectives from the Violence Crime Unit, the post continued. Shorter made a previous appearance in court on October 8, where he had been remanded by the sitting magistrate Yasmine Clarke. He was formally arrested and charged with wounding to commit murder to the female medical student at her home in New Castle on October 1. He was also charged with burglary, the post concluded. |
