MARC STAMP, STAR Writer
Tivoli Gardens and Waterhouse will clash in the final of the Flow Champions Cup Knockout football competition following victories against Arnett Gardens and Harbour View, respectively, at Waterhouse Mini-Stadium in Drewsland last night. The Tivoli team whipped long-time rivals Arnett 5-0 in the opening semi-final game, while Waterhouse edged Harbour View 1-0 in the second game. Former English club, Preston North End representative Keammar 'Dada' Daley scored a brace in the 15th and 18th minute for Tivoli, while other goals came from Kemar Flemmings (39th), Jameel Thompson (50th) and substitute Dwayne Smith (90th). In the second game, Romario 'Rom Rom' Campbell scored the all-important goal for Waterhouse in the 60th minute, against his former club. The first encounter was totally dominated by Tivoli from the kick-off and Arnett could not get settled. Daley, Rohan Reid and Andre Morgan pulled the strings from midfield for Tivoli. It was a show off class by the Glendon 'Admiral' Bailey-coached team. Daley opened the floodgate when he brilliantly drove home a free kick from just outside Arnett's 18-yard area. The kick by the midfield general gave Arnett custodian Damian Hyatt no chance. Three minutes later, the diminutive Daley beat three Arnett players and shot past Hyatt again. From there, Tivoli did not let go and added three more goals. Tivoli's assistant coach Alvin Shaw said his team prepared well for the game and it paid off. "Preparations went well leading up to the game. We are not surprised by the scoreline. There are some strong influences in the team and they are leading the team well," Shaw told STAR Sports. Meanwhile, in the second match, Campbell, who came on late in the second half for Waterhouse, showed his class when he turned a defender and shot past Harbour View custodian Devon Haughton. Waterhouse picked up the tempo with the introduction of Campbell who dictated the pace and displayed good vision, passes and dribbling skill. Campbell, goalkeeper Richard McCallum, and striker Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson were surprisingly included in the team after arriving on Saturday from Jamaica's 2-0 loss to the US in World Cup Qualifier in the United States. "The players were released by the national coach and made available to us," Junior Francis, coach of Waterhouse, disclosed. "Well, any game with Harbour View is normally a good one. It was a tactical game and a good win for the team," Francis added. Tivoli and Waterhouse will square off for the Flow Champions Cup and winning incentive of $1 million on October 28 at Harbour View Mini-Stadium, starting at 9 p.m. |
