On October 18, Phillip Morgan is to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court to further answer wounding and assault charges. Morgan was remanded by Resident Magistrate (RM) Grace Henry McKenzie when he appeared in court Friday. The accused, who is from Tom's River, St Andrew, is accused of wounding and assaulting a man in a dispute involving a woman on June 21. It is alleged that the accused used a stone to hit the complainant in his head and hit him in his knee with bucket. Morgan was subsequently arrested and granted bail, however the court heard that the police quickly took him back into custody after the complainant went missing. To date, relatives of the complainant have not seen or heard from him, and the court was told that his mobile phone was found in the possession of the accused man's girlfriend. Investigators probing the matter told the court that they need two weeks to see how best the complainant's phone that was recovered, can assist in his disappearance. |
