We future look bleak! |
|||||
The more mi read, di more mi know and a di more mi get scared about the future of this country. Dem say a child shall lead us but based pon what me realise many of these children are involved in, Jamaica future have a dark cloud over it! If Vision 2030 is relying on this crop of youngsters to lead the charge of having a better nation, we better put on some big thick glasses pon dah vision deh cause it blurry bad! A wah kind hanky-panky and nastiness some a di pickney dem a gwaan wid inna bus and inna the transport centre? Mi neva know seh parents a send dem pickney go a school fi go turn porn star, alcoholic, drug dealer and criminals now?! It is so appalling and shocking to me that if me never get it from credible source all now mi woulda seh a lie! Some a di pickney dem outta hand, outta orda and absolutely outta dis world wid the behaviour weh dem portray outta road! God bless the one dem weh a go school to get an education and try better themselves, their families and communities but too many "force ripe" ones out deh til nuff a dem all a corrupt the decent one dem who a try maintain dem innocence! 'party buses' The other day mi interview Senior Superintendent Radcliffe Lewis - Head of the Police Traffic Division - and based pon wah him a seh it really sticky out deh. He spoke about "party buses" where the students board these buses for a cost of $300-$500 and engage in adult activities while driving around the Corporate Area with loud derogatory music and di bus dem heavily tinted. Its like a party on wheels where the children have access to alcholic beverages and wanton sex and inappropriate behaviour happen among them with some careless nasty adults actively participating. SSP Lewis said he and his team are on a mission to remove all tints and and loud sound systems from all public passenger vehicles and I agree. All who waa seh di tint help fi keep off the sun offa dem body try and walk wid a towel, or sun screen lotion or an umbrella Things weh a happen now are not unique to this generation. Longtime girl and bwoy a "hook up" inna school and a do the things dem but the thing that is alarming is that these children don't care and have no manners or regard for authority or for adults. Back inna di day if a child a misbehave once a "big man" or "big woman" come pon di scene dem straighten up and get circumspect. Now is like dem a challenge di adults dem and a tek it to dem bilias! Dem tek it to another level and it just a spiral outta control. Robbery, fights, sex in public bathrooms and openly a show affection like man and woman and dem just a look inna yuh yeye like seh smaddy bruk coconut in deh cause dem no care! It has got to the point where some adults are afraid to even speak to them because they fear for their lives and so they turn a blind eye in an attempt to preserve their safety. The police and other stakeholders are up to their eyeballs with this outbreak and mi just know seh we cannot carry on so. Because if di youth dem a we future dem a give us a good glimpse into what it's gonna look like when dem tek over based on their behaviour now. Parents weh some a unnu deh?! Instead a some a unnu a regulate unnu pickney unnu gone ketch man or gone pon gal spree and lef unnu pickney fi be a thorn inna society side! Too many parents are too busy trying to be their child's friend and not being parents and then everybody suffer! My mother used to seh "hate me now and thank me later because young bud no know storm"! Pickney need rules and must be held accountable for their actions and know dem space. No parent will ever be able to monitor their child 24 hours a day and sometimes even when a parent do dem best the child may still deviate but at least yuh try. Nuff a dem man an woman yah weh run inna pickney world no ready fi the responsibility that it comes with! Some socks need fi draw up and shoes fi lace up because if a so di future of tomorrow's Jamaica look, we inna dire straits! |
