It was a busy day in court for a landlord accused of stealing $25,000 worth of utensils from one of his tenants.

He is Lloyd Samuels who appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last Friday. He also appeared as a complainant in another matter.

In the first matter, it was alleged that Samuels broke into a section of his own property, which he rented to a female tenant and stole several items. The court heard that during a search of Samuels' room, the female tenant's items were found.

However, Samuels told the court that the complainant is a liar because the items she is claiming were given to him as birthday presents. He said he and the female got into an argument after she was entertaining a male on his property and allowing him to sleep on the roof of his chicken coop.

Samuels returns to court on November 5 for trial in the matter.

In the second case, Samuels appeared as a complainant. It was alleged that he was beaten up by another female tenant in a dispute over a picture frame.

Chantel Walters is charged with unlawful wounding in that incident. Walters told the court that Samuels used a picture frame to block the view at her window. The court heard that Samuels was hit in the face with a piece of board during the argument.

The matter is set for October 30.
