WESTERN BUREAU: Two St James men accused of robbing a couple while they were having sex on the beach, will stand trial in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on November 15. Vendor, David Hewin, 25, from Salt Spring and Richard Denny, a labourer of Dome Street in Montego Bay, are charged with robbery with aggravation. It is alleged that on July 17, about 9:30 p.m., the complainants were having an intimate moment at the popular Dump-up Beach in Montego Bay, when they were approached by three men armed with knives. Two cellular phones and a purse were taken from the couple. Shortly after, the couple made a report to nearby police officers, who held Hewin and Denny. They were subsequently charged. Clerk of the Court Reginald England reminded presiding magistrate Carolyn Tie that the case against Hewin and Denny had been set for that day to determine a trial date, which was then set. |
