Four firearms and more than 80 assorted rounds of ammunition were seized by the police in Birch Hill, Green Pond, St James, yesterday morning.

Reports from the St James, police are that about 10:45 a.m., a team of officers was on operations in the area, when they discovered the items.

The seized items included an Intratec 9mm pistol, one Glock 9mm pistol, one Beretta 9mm, one Bushmaster M-16 assault rifle and 84 assorted rounds of ammunition, the police said.

Two men have been taken into custody in connection with the find; however, their identities are being withheld pending further investigations, the police said.
