![]() Oshane Booth (left) in action against Kingston College earlier this season. Ryon Jones, Staff Reporter He ranked it as the third best goal of his life, while his coach deemed it the best he has ever seen him score, as national Under-20 player Oshane Boothe's spectacular 87th-minute strike helped St George's College's to a 2-1 win over Camperdown in their Group D ISSA/LIME Manning Cup match yesterday at the Bellevue Field. Boothe, who was tightly marked all game, received a pass from midfielder Cordel Benbow with a defender right on him. He first headed the ball over his marker and then swivelled and executed a crisp right foot volley, which flew into the far post leaving Camperdown's keeper, Leon Lee, rooted to the spot. "It was a good pass by Cordel Benbow and I bucked it over and then placed the ball like in training," Boothe, who was scoring his seventh goal of the season, explained. "I would rate this as the third best goal I have ever scored." The Light Blues' other goal was netted from the penalty spot by captain Ryan Miller in the 17th minute. Camperdown got their consolation by way of Romario Ward in the fourth minute of stoppage time. In the group's other games; a hat-trick by Kimani Arbourne saw Charlie Smith get by Oberlin 4-2, while Donald Quarrie earned their first point of the campaign after playing to a 0-0 draw with Vauxhall. St George's now lead the group with 17 points, while Charlie Smith (14) have overtaken Camperdown (14) for the crucial second spot, by virtue of a superior goal difference. Vauxhall are fourth with six points followed by Oberlin (five) and Donald Quarrie (one). "It (the loss) has severely dented our chance of topping the group, but I think the main thing is that we are still in the hunt to move on to the second round," Camperdown's coach, Christopher Bender, said. Camperdown enjoyed the better of play in the first half, but their forward players lacked composure with Kevin Clarke being the main culprit. "The aim is to top the zone, so that we can play in the Walker Cup, so I'm happy for the win today, but we are not there yet," St George's coach, Neville Bell said.
