Depth is key to Manchester's good run - Davis |

Paul Clarke, Star Writer Western Bureau: The 2013 ISSA/LIME daCosta Cup is shaping up to be one that is chock-full of exciting action and goals galore, and with the inter-zone round almost upon us, one school in particular is sizing up its chances. Manchester High School, coached by Sheldon Davis, qualified as one of three unbeaten teams by stopping B.B. Coke 1-0 on Wednesday in Zone F action, to move their points tally to 19, and well clear of Bellefield and B.B. Coke, who are locked at 10 points each. So dominant has their play been that it now has coach Davis believing his players are prime for a good run, possibly upstaging some of their more fancied inter-zone opponents. "We have a good crop of players this year," he said. "We are able to implement a rotation system and any player that is brought into the starting eleven has been doing his bit to keep the team winning." "We have good depth this year and that, I think, is the difference between this year's squad and last year's," said Davis. |
