Broadcaster facing assault charge |

|
A veteran broadcaster is scheduled to make an appearance in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on October 8, after he was accused of assaulting a woman in Portmore, St Catherine. Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Michael Sharpe. The Crown is alleging that Sharpe, who is a district constable, was coming from Hellshire in Portmore, St Catherine, and following a motor vehicle accident, alighted from his vehicle where he confronted both parties involved in the incident. It is further alleged that during this time a woman claimed she was assaulted. A report was subsequently made to the police by the woman and a file sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, resulting in Sharpe being charged. He was granted bail at the Portmore Police Station in St Catherine.
