An 18-year-old man who pleaded guilty was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magist-rate's Court on Wednesday, and is expected to know his fate when he returns. Charged with larceny from the person is Adrian Reid from Greenwich Town, St Andrew. The court heard that on the day of the incident, a man was coming from a bank with $8,000. Reid is alleged to have grabbed the money from the complainant prompting him to call out 'thief', which drew the attention of the security personnel. Reid was subsequently arrested and later charged. In court, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey told the accused that she did not want to send him to prison but if he could satisfy her that he wants to change his ways, she would work with him. A probation order was subsequently made and no fingerprints were taken. Reid is expected to return to court on November 1. |
