West Indies Women's team second practice match was again affected by rain at Sabina Park in Kingston on Monday, and again yesterday. On Saturday, However, the biggest hit was on Monday when the entire day's play was called off because of rain. Tuesday's light training session was also called off, but the players took to the gym instead. Head coach Sherwin Campbell addressed the situation. Practice match "Of course, we would have liked to get another practice game in, but we have no control over the weather," he said. "We have one more practice match before we play that special game against New Zealand, so yes it's a setback, but not too much of a setback because we have one more practice game to play and a few more days for practice." The next practice game is set for tomorrow at Up Park Camp, but according to the Meteorological Service of Jamaica, there could be rainfall across the island straight to midweek. The Meteorological Service had issued a severe weather alert on Sunday, which stated that the presence of a low-pressure system over the southern Caribbean sea has influenced weather across the country. "We saw the forecast, but we just have to keep our fingers crossed," Campbell said. "We just have to try and get some practice outdoors or indoors." The West Indies Women face New Zealand in a home series, starting with three ODIs at Sabina Park on October 6, 8 and 10, with free entrance to the games.
