Uprising Roots for 'Live to Vinyl' in October

Uprising Roots band.

Darren Hamilton, manager of the Uprising Roots band, is taking his love of roots music to another level with the upcoming series Live to Vinyl.

Speaking about the upcoming series, Hamilton said the concept behind the series is to provide a unique experience for patrons on the beach with positive roots-rocking reggae music "whilst giving upcoming and established acts a platform to deliver this full experience. And to top it off, there will be vinyl selections dubbed 'The Vinyl After Party' from some spectacular DJs and sound systems to complement the conscious positive vibrations".

The event is set to take place at the Cable Hut Beach in Bull Bay on Friday, October 25, with Uprising Roots in concert. The vinyl segment will feature Rockers Soundstation and Trouble Shoot Disco.

According to Hamilton, the whole experience should be a satisfying one for patrons. "When people leave a Live To Vinyl event, they must feel satisfied. Dem belly fi full wid an excellent experience," he said.

Hamilton also said that part of the reason he is doing this series is to continue to rebuild the reggae movement that so many people say has been lost.

The Live to Vinyl series will also see performances coming from artistes and musicians that he says you don't normally see perform in Jamaica on a regular basis.

"They are usually on tour representing reggae music worldwide," said Hamilton.

Live To Vinyl is scheduled to be held monthly.
