CHAMPION trainer Wayne DaCosta has reprogrammed ANTOINETTE and assigned lightweight claiming apprentice Prince Holder to steer home the speedy filly in tomorrow's ninth event at 1200 metres.

DaCosta reclaimed ANTOINETTE from Patrick Fong on August 17 after she chased EL PODEROSO into the lane, behind fast splits, in an overnight allowance at 1300 metres.

ANTOINETTE was claimed out of DaCosta's barn 16 days earlier, following a fifth-place run behind CLASSIC BEAU, AWESOME SENSATION and ROCKETEER at 1300 metres.

The overwhelming favourite on a $600,000 claiming tag that afternoon, ANTOINETTE was run off her legs by CLASSIC BEAU and failed to quicken in the stretch run.

Since reclaiming the money-spinning filly, who is hardly off the board, DaCosta has tuned her for a winning return among non-winners-of-four optional claimers, opting to stay away from overnight allowance where she has failed in three tries this season.

ANTOINETTE's last win was among non-winners-of-four optional claimers, April 6, when she sprayed ROCKETEER with sand, blasting home by six lengths at 1300 metres.

At 50.0 kilos, ANTOINETTE can comfortably sit off any pace set by REAL VIBES MACHINE and, possibly, NUH VEX, before using her superior conditioning to take charge in the stretch run.

DaCosta watched his filly breeze 1100 metres in 1:07.4 last Saturday morning. She had gone 1:07.0 on August 31. However, the track was lightning fast then, probably a second quicker than normal.

The 1200-metre Knutsford Park Cup is an interesting rematch between Patrick Chang's PERSIAN BELLE and Gary Subratie's MAMA BLOSSOM and after they finished heads on for second and third, respectively, behind PRINCESS SHANEIL, at 1400 metres, on August 3.

The fillies matched strides down the backstretch and into the lane, with their riders playing a cat-and-mouse game. The duel continued well into the last furlong when PRINCESS SHANEIL motored past both to take charge.

In the battle for second, PERSIAN BELLE was more resolute and stayed on to outfinish MAMA BLOSSOM. PERSIAN BELLE should return the better horse as that was Chang's first run with the big filly.

She was moved to Chang's stable from Richard Azan's barn where her form had tapered off. Within three months at Chang, she looked improved at exercise and was obviously sharper in the visor with which she was fitted for her reintroduction.

MAMA BLOSSOM has a 7lb weight swing to her advantage but hasn't been doing much speed work at exercise and should be found wanting when the busier PERSIAN BELLE digs in up the lane.
