JPS is reporting that crews carrying out anti-theft operations in St Catherine last week have removed over 320 illegal connections from the JPS infrastructure. The communities in which the teams were carrying out operations included Bog Walk, Knollis, Caymanas Bay and Glades, Orangefield, Cotton Piece, and the Dunbeholden/Portmore Lane area. Four persons have been summoned to appear in court, including the operators of two bars and a cookshop. In Manchester, JPS teams undertaking early morning operations in the New Kendal community removed a total of 75 throw-ups. Four persons were also arrested for the illegal abstraction of electricity. JPS is appealing to persons to avoid the consequences of arrest, including a bad police record. The public is being reminded that the company is eager to work with non-regularised persons to help meet their energy needs. Persons who are not regularised should go to the nearest customer service office to make arrangements to do so. |
