An order to pay $10,000 or serve six months in prison was the sentence given to a woman who was hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on two counts of unlawful wounding. She is Patrice Nelson who was ordered fingerprinted and is to return to court on October 23 for trial. Nelson was sentenced in one of the two related matters, after she pleaded guilty to wounding a man in a dispute she was having with another woman. She pleaded not guilty in the other matter. Nelson told the court that she was involved in a fight with the female complainant, however, no weapons were involved. It is alleged that the female complainant was stabbed during the dispute. "Your Honour, I did not stab her. I don't know where she got that stab. We were in a fight, but there were no weapons involved," the accused said. Nelson then explained to the court that the male complainant got hurt after he interfered in her dispute. |
