After being on bail since 2012 for gun-related offences, Aldane Brown was recently picked up for breaching his bail conditions and was remanded when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. Brown is to return to court on Tuesday, September 24 as further checks were to be made to verify that he has not missed a court date. It is alleged that Brown was not reporting to the police on a weekly basis as he was ordered by the court. Brown told the court that he was instead working in a another parish and that caused him not to report to the police The accused told the court that he was, however, keeping with the other conditions of his bail and his next court date is in January. Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey hinted that the accused may have acted in the limits of the law, as he has a good explanation for being absent from court. However, RM Pusey ordered the police to make the necessary checks to ensure that the accused was being truthful to the court. |
