Star Tell Me Pastor

I don't think my mother loves me

Dear Pastor,

I have a problem that I would like to share with you. My mother has five of us children and I am the last. I am 29 years old and I always feel sad because she is always talking about my eldest sister. I don't think that my mother loves me. She is a heavy drinker and I told her that that is a bad habit and it doesn't look good. I think that is the reason why she hates me.

My eldest sister and brother have the same father and the rest of us have different fathers. It is a long story. I mostly study my Bible and talk about God, so most people don't like that. I want to be a Christian. I have the mind for it. I am very good, loving and kind to people, but most of them hate me. I wonder why? Please pray for me.

Dear ..,

You say that you are the last child for your mother, but perhaps your mother sees you as someone who wants to control her. Part of your problem could be jealousy. You believe that your mother is too close to couple of your siblings, so you are jealous of them. And I sense from your letter that you say unkind things about your mother and your siblings.

Another thing that could be happening to you is that you are very judgmental. I am glad to know that you are studying your Bible. Go to church as often as possible and try to cooperate with your mother and other members of the family.
